Upgrading your Castle will permanently increase the experience your units receive in battle. Additionally, this will also change your Castle Layout. The cost of upgrading your Castle is as follows:

Restore Stamina/Dueling Swords
Buttons that restore your Stamina or Dueling Swords by consuming a 
Stamina Potion, a 
Dueling Crest or an Orb.
Expand Barracks
Barracks refers to the amount of Heroes a player can have at any time. The size of the Barracks when starting the game is 300. It is possible to increase you maximum number of allies by redeeming Orbs. Each Orb increases the amount by 5, for a maximum of 1100 slots.
