Notes
- Mastermind inflicts out of combat damage.
- Out of combat damage cannot reduce a unit's HP to 0.
- A foe equipped with Invincibility Seals will neutralize all sources of out of combat damage except from Røkkr area-of-effect Specials.
- A foe equipped with Røkkr or a unit with En Garde will neutralize all sources of out of combat damage except Area-of-effect Specials.
- Mastermind stacks with out of combat healing from effects such as Essence Drain or Renewal 3.
- For example, if a unit has both Fury and Mystic Boost, Fury 2 + Mystic Boost 1 = -2 HP, Fury 3 + Mystic Boost 3 = 0 HP, and Fury 4 + Mystic Boost 4 = +2 HP.
- "If unit initiates combat" means if the user starts combat during the player phase. The unit does not need to deal damage, nor be the first to attack.
- However, if the effect is applied after combat, the unit must also survive it to fulfill this condition.
- The stat boost that can be applied during combat by Mastermind is considered a temporary buff.
- The damage boosting effect of Mastermind ignores the foe's Def or Res when calculating the damage boost, and can be reduced by damage-reduction effects such as Archrival, A/S Rival Break, and Dodge.
- Damage boosting effects stack additively, similar to flat damage-reduction effects and interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as Triangle Adept and the weapon-triangle advantage boost.
- A foe equipped with Invincibility Seals will neutralize all sources of damage except from Røkkr area-of-effect Specials and the minimum 1 damage from Umbra Burst weapons.
- A foe using attack damage preventing effects can neutralize damage dealt from the foe's own attacks and the unit's attacks (Units with Umbra Burst weapons will take and deal the minimum 1 damage).

- The damage boosting effect of Mastermind will activate if the unit and allies within 2 spaces of unit receive Bonuses.
- The damage boosting effect will not be negated if the unit and allies within 2 spaces of unit receive Penalties.
- The damage boosting effect will be negated if the unit and allies within 2 spaces of unit are affected by Panic (and not affected by Null Panic), or the unit and allies within 2 spaces of unit have their Bonuses removed by a source of Bonus effect removal.
- The damage boosting effect of Mastermind will activate if the target and foes within 2 spaces of target receive Penalties.
- The damage boosting effect will not be negated if the target and foes within 2 spaces of target receive Bonuses.
- If the target and foes within 2 spaces of target are affected by Panic (and not affected by Null Panic), Mastermind will utilize the total Penalty within each stat during calculation.[1]
