Notes
- Attacks that "calculate damage using the lower of foe's Def or Res" include attacks during combat and area-of-effect Specials.
- Effects such as Hexblade can be disabled by effects such as Physical Twin Save or Magic Twin Save.
- Sources of effects that disable "calculates damage using the lower of foe's Def or Res" only during combat:
- The stat increase that can be applied by Refined Magic is considered a Bonus.
- Refined Magic applies the Fringe Bonus status effect.
- Any 【Bonus】 effect on a unit lasts until the start of that unit's next phase. If Fringe Bonus is acquired during the enemy phase, it will disappear when the next player phase begins.
- The stat boost that can be applied during combat by Fringe Bonus is considered a temporary buff.
- The stat increasing effect of Fringe Bonus will activate if the unit or allies within 2 spaces receive Bonuses.
- The stat increasing effect will not be negated nor reduced if the unit or allies within 2 spaces receive Penalties.
- The stat increasing effect of Fringe Bonus will stack with the temporary debuffs from Neutralize Bonuses or sources of bonus neutralization.
- The stat increasing effect will be negated if the unit or allies within 2 spaces are affected by Panic (and not affected by Null Panic), or the unit or allies within 2 spaces have their Bonuses removed by a source of Bonus effect removal.
- Refined Magic applies the Foe Cannot Follow-Up status effect.
- Any 【Bonus】 effect on a unit lasts until the start of that unit's next phase. If Foe Cannot Follow-Up is acquired during the enemy phase, it will disappear when the next player phase begins.
- Foe Cannot Follow-Up can prevent the foe from making a standard follow-up attack.
- As a general rule, if a unit is both prevented from making, and guaranteed to make a standard follow-up attack, the effects cancel out, and the Spd difference is used (including effects that alter the Spd difference such as Frozen).
- Foe Cannot Follow-Up will not prevent a unit with a "unit attacks twice" effect from performing the 2 consecutive attacks, but the the unit will not be able to perform a standard follow-up attack.
- Foe Cannot Follow-Up will not prevent the additional follow-up attack of Potent Follow effects.
- Effects such as Mag. Null Follow or Null Follow-Up will neutralize the follow-up preventing effect of Foe Cannot Follow-Up.
- Refined Magic applies the Assign Decoy Twin status effect.
- Any 【Bonus】 effect on a unit lasts until the start of that unit's next phase. If Assign Decoy Twin is acquired during the enemy phase, it will disappear when the next player phase begins.
- Assign Decoy Twin only triggers 【Savior】 if the unit's Range matches the Foe's Range.
- "If foe initiates combat" means if a foe triggers combat during the enemy phase. The unit being initiated upon does not need to deal damage, nor be able to counterattack.
- However, if the effect is applied after combat, the unit being initiated upon must also survive it to fulfill this condition.
- 【Savior】 is triggered after Area-of-effect Specials (excluding Røkkr area-of-effect Specials).
- 【Savior】 will not trigger if multiple units with a 【Savior】 effect can protect the same ally.
- If a unit has multiple status effects that grant 【Savior】, 【Savior】 will not trigger from those status effects, but can still trigger from other sources.
- 【Savior】 can be prevented from triggering by Savior preventing effects such as Undefended, Jaws of Closure, or Fell Barrier.
- Effects such as Time's Grip and Feud will not disable 【Savior】.
- If 【Savior】 is triggered:
- The user is considered as adjacent to the protected ally, which means skills that have the "If unit is adjacent to an ally" condition trigger, while skills that have the "If unit is not adjacent to an ally" condition do not trigger.
- The user will not be able to trigger effects with a condition that "excludes when 【Savior】 triggers" such as Might of Myriads, Spd Preempt 3, or Paranoia.
- Only during combat skills that are active on the protected ally will be accounted on the user.
- "After combat" movement is disabled, even if the user or foe is defeated, such as with the movement from Repel 4, Harrowing Call, or Movement Passives.
- The protected ally is unaffected by "after combat" effects, such as from Pain+ and Fatal Smoke 4.
- The damage-reduction double triggering effect of Assign Decoy Twin only applies to Specials that "Reduce damage by X%" once per combat such as Flame Wall or Ice Wall.
- The damage-reduction double triggering effect does not work on boosted Special effects from engaging such as Ike: Of Radiance's boosted Special effect.
- The damage-reduction double triggering effect does not stack with other similar effects such as Prof's Guidance or Twin Save Passives.
- The Assign Decoy Twin effect of Refined Magic can trigger if the unit has their Ally Support partner deployed on the map.
- Skills such as Queensblade or Breezy Spear will prevent Ally Support effects from triggering only during combat.
- "If unit initiates combat" means if the user starts combat during the player phase. The unit does not need to deal damage, nor be the first to attack.
- However, if the effect is applied after combat, the unit must also survive it to fulfill this condition.
- The stat boost that can be applied during combat by Refined Magic is considered a temporary buff.
- The damage boosting effect of Refined Magic ignores the foe's Def or Res when calculating the damage boost, and can be reduced by damage-reduction effects such as Archrival, A/S Rival Break, and Dodge.
- Damage boosting effects stack additively, similar to flat damage-reduction effects and interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as Triangle Adept and the weapon-triangle advantage boost.
- A foe equipped with Invincibility Seals will neutralize all sources of damage except from Røkkr area-of-effect Specials and the minimum 1 damage from Umbra Burst weapons.
- A foe using attack damage preventing effects can neutralize damage dealt from the foe's own attacks and the unit's attacks (Units with Umbra Burst weapons will take and deal the minimum 1 damage).
- For more information, see Damage calculation.
- The flat damage-reduction effect is a flat -7 damage that is calculated after offensive Specials, damage boosting effects such as Arcane Thorn and Change of Fate, and "reduces damage by X%" effects such as Archrival and Dodge.
- If a an effect such as Miracle or Roy: Of Binding's boosted Special effect can trigger, the damage-reduction effect will not trigger and the user will still survive with only 1 HP.
- Umbra Burst weapons will always deal a minimum of 1 damage even if the foe uses attack damage preventing effects, Invincibility Seals, or damage reduction effects.
- Flat damage-reduction effects stack additively, similar to damage boosting effects and interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as Triangle Adept and the weapon-triangle advantage boost.
- Flat damage-reduction effects cannot be neutralized or reduced only during combat by effects such as Share Spoils+ or Halves non-Special damage reduction.
- For more information, see Damage calculation.
- As a general rule, if a unit is both prevented from making, and guaranteed to make a follow-up attack, the effects cancel out, and the Spd difference decides instead (including effects that alter the Spd difference such as Frozen).
- A foe with effects such as Phys. Null Follow or Null Follow-Up will neutralize the guaranteed follow-up attack granted by Refined Magic.
- The extra attack of Refined Magic is not a follow-up attack nor a change in attack priority.
- Effects such as Foe Cannot Follow-Up or A/D/R Slam do not affect the extra attack.
- If Refined Magic's user can perform a standard follow-up attack, either by passing the Spd difference check or effects such as Guaranteed follow-ups during combat or Quick Riposte 4, the user will be able to attack up to 4 times during combat.
- Refined Magic's extra attack does not affect the additional follow-up granted by Potent Follow effects.
- A foe with effects such as Phys. Null Follow or Null Follow-Up will neutralize any effect on Refined Magic's user that guarantees follow-up attacks.
